Sorry I was way too drunk while writing that, think I pulled the "death by 30" out of my ass, can't find any source, no idea where I got that from

Reading the linked article it says that she told her editor
>"You'll be dead at 35."
>I went completely pale.
>Why am I going to be dead at 35?
>A drug overdose? A hit and run?
>I don't want to die.
>I couldn't stop thinking about her ominous prediction.
>She had seen the shadow of death hovering over me.
>But her premonition, it turns out, had in fact been directed at herself.

she also tried commiting suicide before:
>Having attempted to commit suicide in the past, Nekojiru had written wills on a number of occasions.
>Her last extant will in fact dated from several years prior.

her manga also seemed to tell awful much about herself, like the first one, Nekojiru Udon Ch. 11, where the cat wants to become invisible
>I wanted to go and see the other shore myself, but for some reason I was scared and couldn't do it..
>But one day, I just felt like I had to go see the other shore. I couldn't bear it any longer

I saw Shiki on DVDs a year ago so I don't think it's that obscure.
What I am surprised is that it was written by the same person as Twelve Kingdoms, which I very much enjoyed but never see anyone talk about.

 No.34429

>>34393
that is weird, i guess twelve kingdoms is too old? it's certainly better than most stuff airing these days.

The second season of a very popular, fun, and cute show. It's directed by Satou Junichi, if that means anything to you.

 No.36790

Angels egg is my biggest inspiration, someday I hope to make film that at least half as good as this one.

Doremi is mildly obscure in the west, but super popular in Japan.

in what fucking world are the faggots who watch naruto and sword art online also watching legend of the galactic heroes?!

i know sandwiching legend of the galactic heroes between sword art online and attack on titan is just bait, but i'm still fucking triggered. OP your pic is completely distracting me from the purpose of your thread.

fucking sage, jesus christ

>in what fucking world are the faggots who watch naruto and sword art online also watching legend of the galactic heroes?!
This one. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news about your favorite shitty meme show, but LotGH is unironically reddits favorite anime. Do you need further explanation for how this audience's tastes could overlap with Naruto and SAO?

File: 1623698796254.jpg (13.17 KB, 188x268, 47:67, yobi the five tailed fox.jpg) ImgOps iqdb

Where do you guys go to find torrents for really obscure anime? Trying to find pic related and Nyaa has failed me, yet there is also no other link on the internet unless I want to become a streamfag. Which might be what I'm forced to become at this rate since private trackers are extremely autistic and nigh impossible to get into.

 No.36981

>>36980
Nyaa tends be purist, so you probably won’t find anything Korean or Chinese.

 No.36982

>>36981
Yea it kind-of is, you can still find a lot of the more popular or recent ones though. Technically Yobi The Five Tailed Fox is on Nyaa, but it has literally 0 seeders and was last posted 8 fucking years ago.

 No.36991

>>36981
They're not purist, they have a healthy sense of self-preservation. For stuff that doesn't come with a massive, cancerous fanbase attached, they're fine. They still have all the wakfu shit. Because the French are not threatening to overrun the site and pervert its purpose.

 No.36993

>>36980
That seems to be a Korean cartoon, so not anime. Only Japan makes anime.

True weebs know that in Japan they call everything that's animated anime, even something like The Simpsons

 No.38475

>>38473
Their term for foreign anime is 海外 アニメ, "kaigai anime".

Kinnikuman. It's the best shounen anime in my opinion.
The western anime fandom is overall retarded with demon slayer and that new whitewashed gyaru anime getting 50 fansubs in 1 nanosecond.
Meanwhile one of the most beloved and best-selling manga in japan to this day doesn't get shit unless enthusiasts get on it.
If the spaniards translating it don't give up maybe we'll see nisei in a few years.

Souten Kouro is also rather good, but then again, westerners tend to think anime based on a Chinese setting is ugly and boring.
Which couldn't be farther from the truth. It's both unique and enjoyable.

Dismissing them both entirely because you can't socialize or have "anime cred" trendy anime gets you for watching it

 No.38607

a.i. translation will be good soon

 No.38608

>>38606
You could study japanese for a few months and then just listen to each episode slowly with jisho and a translator like deepl in hand. I have done it before, it will take hours per 20min episode but it could pay off if you're dedicated

 No.38609

>>38607
No it won't.

 No.38610

While downloading 8 trillion ukraine videos my download thing also pulled down this (so someone linked to it recently). I guess it's not obscure because it's on youtube, but it has good art and wizs might like it.

 No.38616

>>38607
Machine translation already exists. The thing about AI is, it'll never be as good as real passionate work. Those cartoon AI voices dont even compare to sentence mixing. Same with translation. The sentence structure would be obviously stiff and robotic

Magi: The Labyrinth of Magic & Kingdom of Magic should be mandatory watching material for all denizens of Wizchan since the final season ends up taking place in a country of Wizards where normans are basically treated as cattle.

Armed Librarians: The Book of Bantorra is another really good obscure watch with plenty of wizchan attitude. There is norman stuff in it like a degree of romance and busty anime gurls but its by no means offensive or distasteful.

Just like most other animes/media its themed around a very Gnostic perspective of reality.

 No.38620

>>38619
book of bantorra is pretty good, I remember watching it on tv actually

I just finished watching what was subbed of this series, I loved it so much.

I dunno? Maybe some old OVA like California Crisis or Bobby's in deep? Check out this angry short film by Hiroshi Harada. Shit subs but it still gets across.

for now its most likely its hiwous war cronicles weirdly despite being 1st bones anime that aired in 2000s (and translated MUCH later) its seems to be lesser known than zambot3 daitarn3 or even wings of rean (yeah im a tominofag)

 No.38666

>>38665
also im trying to download triton of sea thats the last tomino cartoon i need to watch but been stuck at 44% for like 3months now THAT probs will be obscurest shit ive wasted my time on

not bad overall but some pretty bizarre choices

I watched Hiwou's recently, I think it's really neat. Love me sum Bones

 No.39369

Icebergs are supposed to be least obscure to most, right? I wonder if End of Evangelion is more obscure than Galactic Heroes is nowadays, though I certainly wouldn't have said that a couple decades ago. I remember renting End from Blockbuster. I wonder if the original series and movie are neglected for the remakes.

Urban Legend Story Hikiko
Shigurui

It's a fucking shame people don't know Shigurui…

 No.39945

>>34359
Like Darkstalkers they did the same thing to Virtua Fighter in making an anime from the game. It was a 90s arcade game that was the first to use 3D models instead of hand drawn animations.
>>34363
some people just want to die young, which I thought was cowardly till I saw someone come down with Alzheimer's.
>>36980
pffft, unless it is super popular you aren't finding torrents these days fag. I have better luck on Youtube or some back water Youtube knock off than torrents.
>>36993
>Alexander the Conquer and Big O are not anime
by the way throw Alexander the Conquer on that list since I had to go out of my way to find it again, but it was made by the same guy who did ANeon Flux.
>>38481
>code geass
last time I heard about this they said Attack on Titan ripped it off.

 No.39953

The Idolm@ster is not an "obscure" anime. Unless I fell off the bottom of this list long ago.

 No.39955

>>39953
These charts are always shitty “ironic” memes that just throw shit at the wall hoping it sticks. Like dragon ball is the same tier as LOGH and hetalia,

 No.39958

agree that being a streamfag is OK, especially when there are no trustworthy public torrents. i only hate watermarks.

 No.40101

Anyone have any suggestions for good historical anime? Not expecting accuracy. Mostly interested in feudal Japan but other settings are fine too. Been loving Vinland Saga 2.

Two of my Top 10 favorite anime that are still great and cult classic in Greece and Saudi Arabia but obscure everywhere else (even in Japan) are Igano Kabamaru and Plawres Sanshiro:

https://anidb.net/anime/2007
https://anidb.net/anime/3324

Both of them are fan-translated with Japanese audio and English subtitles. If you're Medabots fan, you'll definitely love Plawres Sanshiro since it's its great ancestor and directed by same guy who later directed Pokemon anime.

People even ignore the existence of 2000s mainstream shonen like Konjiki no Gash Bell, let alone obscure stand alone OVAs from the '80s.
