 No.45741

Do any other wizards on here buy stuff online like electronics, things you collect, movies, clothes or whatever?

Post ITT and discuss things you bought online.

 No.45742

>>45741
I bought some stuff for my car online lately. Why are you asking?

 No.45745

That on its own isn't a hobby.
This thread would make more sense being on /lounge/, not here.

 No.45746

I used to order weapons like crazy but then I grew up

 No.45747

Martial artist or mall ninja?

 No.45748

>>45747
neither, just things like bowies and tomahawks and warhammers, some medieval swords, sjamboks, etc

I love weapons

 No.45749

Mostly manga since publishing companies in my country are shit and we only ever get popular shounen or random yaoi titles.

 No.45750

Band shirts and striped socks

 No.45751

>>45748
So mall ninja then.

 No.45752

 No.45753

>>45751

I only buy books, mostly math books. I like hardcover ones.

 No.45755

I think this thread is for rich fags

 No.45756

I pay for a vpn to pirate media and actively avoid buying anything unless absolutely necessary. It amazes me that people pay for stuff like loot boxes and junk. Having many physical things feels like a burden

 No.45757

>>45755
>having any source of income at all is not a richfag

It is one of the perks of having your own money. You can chose what to do with it.
That said I still think that buying things online is not in of its self a hobby.

I recently got the Kobo Clara HD e-reader (pic related). The alternative was to get a Kindle, but Amazon doesn't take kindly to open-source formats like EPUB and I don't want to be locked into the MOBI format so I got this one instead.

My goal is to spend less time on the internet (maybe 1 or 2 hours a day maximum) and more time reading stuff. This is also my way to get away from "meme culture" and the unrelenting culture war shitshow that rages on the Internet. To that effect, I torrented a bunch of fantasy book series (The Broken Empire, Malazan, Shannara, Wheel of Time, Chronicles of the Black Company, Discworld, His Dark Materials, etc.) so hopefully I can get immersed in those.

First impression about the device is that it's small, about the height and width of a small paperback book, which is pretty cozy. The screen isn't back-lit, which gives it a more natural feel, and you can stare at it without straining your eyes like you would with a regular tablet or monitor.

One thing I noticed is how hard it is to keep focusing intensely on a single topic for long stretches of time. I think years of chronic internet use have trained me to have a short attention span that jumps from task to task. My reading is pretty shallow too: I find myself constantly missing important words in a sentence and having to re-read passages because I don't recall anything from them.

So far so good.

you can also buy the NOOK ereader for $30 online, and then with a convenient button pressing bypass the factory setup mode (which asks you to make an account) and then eternally use the reader with a number of file types and expandable memory

the black and white readers (BVN300 iirc) sell for 18-30 both new and used with free shipping, and the backlit black/white ones are 40-60 new or used.

You can buy no name chinese tablets for the same price if you just want a device to read on.

set settings to
>search of "NOOK"
>"buy it now"
>price < $40

 No.45892

>>45878
So no clothing, food, things to prepare and store that food, transportation, hygiene items, first aid/emergence supplies, meds, a place to sit, a place to sit, and a place to sit your laptop other then your lap?

 No.45912

>>45892

i would get a part-time job

i already have clothes
i would buy food(cheap food that will last a long time ago)
you could buy a lifetime supply of hygiene items for like 50 bucks.

i would never get hurt because i would never leave my van except get get supplies. first/ emergency supplies would be unnecessary.

i don't take medication.

i would buy a cot and sit on the cot in the back of my van.
i would sit my laptop on my cot. right now my laptop is on my bed as i type on it. i don't need a table

 No.45913

>>45912

that will last a long time)*

 No.45914

tables and chairs are for normie faggots. you only need that shit for faggoty visitors. i am never having visitors. i wanna be dead to the world and be a hermit

 No.45915

shit! i wouldn't even need a cot. i would sleep on the floor of the van with a sleeping bad

 No.45917

>>45914
I really enjoy sitting (which probably explains the typo from before).
If I had the space and a proper desk I would get one of those really fancy recliner chairs.
It is the best sit I have ever had.

There is no reason not to be comfy on the account of normies.

 No.45923

i own hundreds, possibly thousands of dollars worth of trading cards but i'm too scared to go out and play with them

 No.45924

>>45923
Care to take a picture of your collection. I was really into PTCG and Magic for close to 10 years and like you never played a single game with them.

 No.45925

>>45924
oh i wouldn't be able to get a photo of the entire thing. it's not organized at all and just sitting in card boxes littered in my NEETden. i don't really have any individual items that are that expensive either, it's more just the sheer number of cards i have that makes the collection worth so much
most expensive card i bought lately was a demonic tutor (revised) for like $50 CAD, which isn't much compared to what people who actually work spend on the hobby
still i think it's an impressive collection for somebody who doesn't even play any fucking card games

 No.45932

I'm looking to buy 16gigs of ddr4 at black friday or christmas. Is that possible? The cheapes chinese shit costs about a hundred.

 No.45938

>>45924
Is MtG the same as Pokemon? I've been 5 minutes into PTCG and I know everyone hunts for Tapu Leles GX for example - is MtG also about MinMaxing your deck, or can you approach it with your own style? Are there any card games like that?

 No.45939

>>45938
not him but when I played mtg it was all about using low casting cost cards to spam opponents to death early on, based on faggy deck formulas in the nerd magazines

I wonder if that ever changed

 No.45940

>>45938
look into formats. there are more casual ones like EDH that give you more freedom to use fun cards

 No.45945

I bought a dubious signal jammer from China along with a electronic bug sweeper which does seem to work according to reviews the signal jammer was removed from the ebay listing shortly after I don't know if I'll ever get it or maybe I'll get a knock on my door

 No.45949

Books on British history mostly.

 No.45950

>>45945
What kind of signal jammer?

 No.45965

>>45945
Well if you can't find it again you will most likely find plans to build your own.
The good ones are too expensive and power hungry anyway. I remember watching a movie where a bunch of inbred woods people used one and I was like how the fuck can people who were depicted as dirt poor the whole movie afford something that fucking expensive and where the hell are they getting the juice that it can jam the whole valley?

 No.46111

Bought a 64gb sdcard for 15 bucks.
Time to re-download my entire library to FLAC and organize it a bit.

 No.46112

>>46111
I have some bad news for you.

 No.46113

>>46112
I got it from a local online store and it seems to be a legit Kingston 64gb card.
Checked with RMPrepUSB with a quick test and it passed.

A Knight?

 No.46505

Its amazing that toys that have stayed in original packaging since 1995, are half the price they were then.

It all so favors the consumer, I can't imagine selling anything online.

 No.46508

>>45741
Shop for doujinshi about once a month, as wage allows it. Only non-parody and non-h, so usually not a huge range to choose from. Used mostly Mandarake.
