I was on Monday, week 4 today.
Got 150lbs for my hang snatch(above knee) 3 rep max, did 90% of my 5RM(which was 345 yesterday) for a 5*5 on back squats, and then took the weight down to 135 and just did two sets of as many reps as possible, like in this http://real-anime-training.blogspot.com/2015/07/maito-gais-basic-training.html?m=1

made me feel great tbh. If I can reach 400*3 on backsquats by the end of this year, I'll feel pretty great. I lost a lot of strength from when I was younger, and I'm finally getting closer to making it back to where I was. I'm making noob gains tier progress again, so my spirits have been lifted quite a bit.

Current stats are 5'11 and 181lbs as of this morning. Permabulking for life.

I'm a boxer! My gym isn't too terrible price-wise, and luckily within biking distance. The coach drives me to matches if my mom won't since I don't have a car. It's a really hard sport, but also the only thing I feel attached to. It's thrilling! Muay Thai is very cool and one of the stronger martial arts in my opinion. Do you know enough that you could practice on your own?

I've been boxing seriously for just over two years, but I got into it faster than most since I would always practice by myself before then (I didn't have a bag or anything but I did careful research on different stances and punches, etc.). I definitely recommend a heavy bag and a speed bag if you have space and money. All I have at home is a jumprope and some dumbbells, but I wish I had a bag. Having a coach is really nice. He's not my "friend", but having someone who cares about your progress feels really good. Boxing and work are the only reasons I even leave the house.

Huge difference. For instance, my left hook went from a punch that I had serious trouble throwing to one of the best in my repertoire, and I would have never figured out why without a coach. Practicing by myself certainly improved my power and stamina but my there are parts of my technique that I needed a coach for.

I stopped exercising. I feel disappointed in myself that I can't seem to nurture or better yet, ingrain hard iron discipline in myself and do something, anything, for my body in terms of exercise, every day or at least every two days. I already feel weaker, more depressed, more anxious, generally feeling worse than usual. I say it's because it's winter and it's cold, but in reality these are just excuses.

How are you maxing out safely in the gym? I literally haven't tested my max in a single exercise since I was in highschool ages ago. Currently I'm working out in my gym in the middle of the night, and it feels like it would be highly dangerous to load up a barbell with some heavy weights with nobody else around at all. Usually I just do 5x5s so I don't have to worry too much about failing, and I also substitute weighted chain exercises for others, such as weighted dips instead of benching.

I can't believe how out of shape I am. I can't even run for a minute. It amazes me that people can run for over 26 miles straight. It seems impossible. I've been at this for a month now and still haven't really made any progress because shit starts hurting almost immediately when I start running.

It depends on the weight, your strength, and the exercise as well. Doing benchpress for example can be pretty painful without having a spotter there. A number of years ago I was using my 5x5 normal weight (240) for reps and failed out on the 5th rep in the final set. Had 240 fucking pounds on a bar across my chest at 3 AM in a completely empty gym. Ended up having to do the roll of shame where you roll the bar down across your body until you can sit up and remove it. Highly painful and it leaves bruises everywhere.

Squats on the other hand are much more potentially dangerous and painful than a bench could ever be.

It is one of those things that happens when you lift alone and arn't paying attention to what your body is telling you that day.
Thankfully I have never had a problem with squats, but I have heard some horror stories and seen the aftermath of solo lifts gone wrong.

But I will say it again, listen to your body closely when you lift alone so you don't get yourself into trouble.

I was like this when I started running. One minute would kill me.
Work up gradually. Go for a run but split it up between running and walking. 1 minute running, 1 minute walking. Or whatever. Then it goes to 2 minutes run 2 walk. Build it up as your fitness improves.

It took me two years to go from not being able to run for more than 2 minutes but I eventually was able to run for over 20. I stopped because knees and got into cycling which is fun as fuck nigga

I made a decision that I'll buy an indoor exercise bike, to exercise when I don't want to leave the house. Any recommendations about the models, or experiences?

As far as my current fitness goes, it's pathetic. During winter I did try to walk a lot, I live near a forest and I've been doing some 1h-2h tours through the paths (some are quite steep), but other than that, I'm not doing anything with myself. Every day I go through plans in my head on how I'll start a healthy life style, but I never do it.

So I've gotten the indoor bike. I don't regret it so far. It can be a pretty intense cardio workout if you do it right. I listen to music while I do it, and time seems to pass by pretty fast. I like it that I have the option to do exercise even in raid, cold or simply because I don't want to leave the house. I don't get the hate against the machines and arguments that outdoor exercise is always better - why couldn't you have both options available? Especially for people who live in shithole areas.

Either way, it's getting warmer, and the days are longer, so I also reignited my outdoor exercise regime. Will try to run/walk/workout at least every 2 days - ideally 4 times per week somehow. Today I also used Strava for the first time - I like it and I think that it will take my running to next level.

How are you guys doing?

Just do a general strength/hypertrophy program and reduce your caloric intake. Losing weight is determined entirely by your caloric intake and metabolic rate. If you wish, you could also take clenbuterol and T3 to increase your metabolic rate a bit, however, it would be best to avoid doing that for too long, as T3 can lead to decreased T4 levels, which is associated with decreased cognitive function. If you're really about it, then you could try DNP, which essentially forces your body to rely on fat stores for energy, but it can be dangerous if you dose too high. But can give you very drastic results, I've seen people say it allowed them to lose 50lbs a month. These all would go well in conjuction with an anabolic steroid, such as test or tren, to prevent any issues with your lean mass.

I would recommend that you research this further as well, as I have never taken any of these substances myself, only read about them.

Week 4, day 1 of the russian squat program

Squats:
355lbs/161kg for 5 sets of 5 reps

Didn't feel so bad. The 6x6 I did last week was much worse, however, I dont think I paced myself well enough then. High rep squats always make me feel as though I'm going to vomit if I don't rest long enough between sets.

Clean and jerk: 3 sets of 1 rep with 225lbs/100kg

Kept it nice and easy here, since i didn't have much time left due to poor planning(i.e. paranoia/anxiety about going outside) and wasn't really able to fully recuperate enough to do heavy clean and jerks.

Went back after that, took a shower and got ready to go to my night classes.

Checked out the planet fitness next to my job to see if I should sign up for such a low price. Turns out they don't really have any of the big 3 lifts in free weights. No dead, no bench, and no squat. They have one smith machine and some dumbbells as far as weights go. Everything else is just machines.
I noped right the fuck out of there.
I would be better off slowly but surely buying my own set of weights.

It's possible, but very hard to maintain. Your thought process will be very clear, but you will be very slow. It's better to just eat healthy. Yogurt is a very good place to start. Gut flora is the major thing that keeps people obese. If you can replace the gut flora, then you will notice a change in eating habits with zero effort on your part. Sour cream, sauerkraut, kimchi, kombucha, and yogurt are all really good if you don't add refined sugar to them.

But I recommend starting with yogurt and sour cream. For yogurt, look for greek Wallaby's or Fage. I eat 0% fat because it doesn't really matter, all you want is the probiotics. Greek yogurt itself is very tangy, so I cut a half of an apple up into small bits and mix it into the yogurt. I sometimes also add peanuts.

Like cake, soda, etc etc.
You get benefits from looking at your diet and avoiding overly processed foods. That's about it. When you eat bread and pasta, etc, make it wholegrain. What you want is to eat the stuff that modern factories pull out of food to make it look nicer and last longer, but is actually important for gut flora.

Don't do any free weights if you have shoulder problems. Check out CC1 and do step 1 baby excercises for a year twice per week for recovery. Also do the stretching triumphirate in CC2.
